About me
I’m a drummer, pianist and music educator based in South Wales, with over 30 years of performance experience and 15 years of teaching.
Whether I’m behind a drum kit, at a piano, or working with students, my focus is always the same - helping music connect, communicate and feel good.
I trained at the University of Southampton to Masters level, and hold Grade 8 in both piano (ABRSM) and drums (Trinity, with Honours).
Over the years, I’ve worked across genres – from jazz quartets to tribute acts – and have performed on BBC, S4C, Sky, and national radio, as well as international cruise ships and major jazz festivals.
I also teach music at college level and work with private students across South Wales and online.

Musical influences
My own playing has been shaped by a wide range of influences. From the classical world, composers like Debussy and Ravel sparked my interest in colour and harmony.
In contemporary music, I’ve been drawn to artists like Steely Dan, Miles Davis, Level 42 and The Police – musicians who combine precision with soul, and technique with groove.
I bring those sensibilities into both my playing and teaching, aiming for clarity, feel and musicality.
